This weeks Window Walk Gallery Highlighted Artist of the Week is Melania Torres!
Melania is a high school student in Palm Desert. She began expressing her love for art at a very young age. She started with crayons and doodling at the age of 1 and evolved to using paints when she turned 3. She has passed on her love of art to her brothers and has completed several "commissioned" pieces for family and friends. She uses art to reflect her emotions.
When asked why she would want to participate in a gallery that supports Mental Health Awareness she said: "I wanted to participate in the gallery because I feel that, especially in my age group, people feel uncomfortable discussing mental health. The reality is that mental health issues exist in all age groups, and that this pandemic has had a negative impact on everyone. I feel that art is a positive outlet to share what someone is feeling inside, even when words cannot."
