This Chanukah, the Coachella Valley is seeing a surge in public

displays of the holiday and Jewish identity, with many more families and individuals

planning to light their menorahs in visible places, such as their doors or windows. Chabad

of Rancho Mirage will light a public nine-foot menorah at The River Amphitheater in Rancho

Mirage, followed by a community celebration on Sunday, December 29, the fifth night of

Chanukah.

Here’s the Scoop: The Sweetest Toy Drive Ever!

Ben & Jerry’s and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department join forces!

Saturday, December 14th

5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Located at the Scoop Shop

Join us at The River in Rancho Mirage.

Please help us brighten the Holidays for an underprivileged child. Donate a new, unwrapped toy or sports equipment valued at $10.00 or more and you will receive a FREE scoop from Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream. We will be collecting toys for children up to age 12.

Riverside County Sheriff’s team members will be on-site to accept your donation. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the magic of holiday lights, music and cheer. Ben & Jerry’s @ The River recognizes, “Children are one of our nation’s most valuable

resources. Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders – civic, business, and social. This is

an alarming statistic, approximately 15 million American children live in poverty. The

new toy a needy child receives during the holidays delivers a message of hope and we

want to be a part of that.”

All donations will be forwarded to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and will

benefit children of the valley who deputies interact and meet during their patrol shifts

and/or are recommended by school counselors.

We’re thrilled to invite you to The River’s annual Tree Lighting Celebration, presented by Spotlight 29 Casino, happening on Friday, December 6th, from 6pm to 8pm. This is our favorite time of year, and we can’t wait to share the festive spirit with the community!

Our celebration is packed with holiday cheer and activities for everyone. The evening will feature guest speakers, including city officials, chamber leaders, and local business representatives, who’ll help us welcome the season. Highlights of the evening include:

Meet & Greet with Santa – Capture the holiday magic with Santa himself!

Live Music & Entertainment – Enjoy holiday tunes from DJ Tommy of Big 106 and performances by the talented SoCal Holiday Brass. Local community groups will also bring festive dances and holiday numbers to get everyone in the spirit!

Holiday Activities – Decorate ornaments, get your face painted, and visit our amazing vendors for family-friendly fun.

Seasonal Treats – Enjoy warm hot chocolate from Shellie Station and, for adults, a cozy festive cocktail lounge (21+ only) provided by Dave & Busters.

Spark of Love Toy Drive – We’re honored to partner with the Riverside County Fire Department for the third year now on their Annual Spark of Love toy drive. We encourage everyone to bring an unopened toy for children of all ages, from newborns to teens, to help make this season special for families in need. For every toy donated you will be entered to win gift cards to some of the great businesses at The River!
