This week our Window Walk Highlighted Artist of the week is The Palm Prince.
The Palm Prince is a self-made neo-expressionist artist. His work is an abstract take on the human condition. Mixing semi-realism and acrylic experimentation, he projects greater meaning in little details. The Palm Prince began creating his work at the beginning of 2019. Being a poet/writer before painting, his work consists of cryptic messages and subtle meanings.
In his early work, he used dollar store canvas and poster paint. His supplies were limited and difficult to work with. Within a month he sold all of his work and purchased higher quality supplies. After this cycle of rinse and repeat, the Palm Prince had acquired better supplies and a name for himself. He is still finding himself and his style, meaning there is only better work to come in the future.
When asked why he submitted his work for the Window Walk Gallery, he replied “Because I want to do my part in raising awareness.” He continued “This is a difficult time for people. Mental health awareness is always important, however, it is even more important now. I was walking through The River one night and I noticed all of the art displayed in the windows. Seeing all of these talented works brought back memories of walking through galleries. Later I read about why these works were being displayed; that’s when I knew I had to do my part and submit my artwork.
To enjoy more of his amazing artwork you can visit The River in person!
