This week we are highlighting Teresa Hunt as our Window Walk Gallery Artist of the Week!
Teresa Hunt was born and raised in Coachella in the Desert Valley. Coming from a rather big family there has always been some form of creativity or art form in her household, which she believes is why she has such a passion and love for painting.
She started getting serious with art at the age of 12 and went full speed from there. She considers her art style a bit of realism with a splash of fantasy that carries its own unique twist. "Most of the time my ideas are unpredictable and sporadic, that’s what makes it so fun. I never know exactly what I will be painting next!"
She has sold her art in the past as well as won a few small contests along the way that she is very proud of. Her aspiration in life is to eventually have an art gallery of her own, but above all is continuing to get joy out of being inspired and inspiring others.
When asked why she wanted to participate in The Window Walk gallery Teresa said, "The reason I wanted to participate in a gallery that supports mental health awareness is because not only is it a great support system but in our day and age I feel its something that needs to be…rather than misconstrued, or romanticized, its something many people need to be educated on. There are many that suffer in silence, so because of that I felt a need to contribute to the Mental Health society. We are all survivors in our own way, why not work together for a greater brighter cause? The best time to start is now."
On a final note, Teresa left us with "If you happen to walk by and see my art work hanging in a gallery window I hope you feel something rather than just seeing what is behind the glass looking back at you. After all… "The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance." "
