Our Window Walk Highlighted Artist of the Week is Daiylee Perez!
Daiylee is an 11th grader at Palm Desert High School, she has showed her fondness for art at an early age. Drawing has become her passion and art is her predilect way to express her feelings. She has been studying and working on animation for the past two years and hopes to make her own films and animation series. Her dream is to be a Cal Arts graduate.
Daiylee has participated in several art competitions and has several awards and accomplishments.
When she was asked why she decided in participating in a gallery that supports mental health awareness her answer was “I my self suffer from anxiety and art has been a helpful and healthy outlet, it has help me in many wonderful ways. I can draw my emotions and I can feel free, no rules, fear or restrictions. Art is a way to express what words can not at times. No one should ever feel embarrassed or scare to suffer from a mental illness, accepting your struggles shows have brave you are, and it makes you feel strong to know that by accepting and talking about it you can empower other to do the same.”
